At some point this spring, I felt like I was wearing a mask called “brave” to protect my vulnerable inner heart. But this mask wasn’t as strong as it seemed—its shadow was large, yet it cracked easily.
When you’re wearing a mask, it can’t protect you the way you think it will; in fact, it only holds you back from becoming truly brave.
This work was created using a combination of etching, aquatint, viscosity printing, and chine collé printing techniques.
