There is a city called the City of Petoskey, named for its abundance of Petoskey stones. Another place, Copper Harbor, is also located in northern Michigan, where agates can be found in the spring. I combined my memories of these two places in this painting, reflecting on the beautiful stones I found there. However, when I returned home, I never saw those rocks again; somehow, they had disappeared.
